E-Bikes and Standard Bikes - Framelock

 

In order to filter for E-Bikes you need to apply a bike filter. To find Electric Stations, look at the station name in the app or website map. For more information, click here.

1. REGISTER

Register via app, website or hotline or simply click here. 

 

By joining, you will also be able to rent nextbikes in every nextbike city worldwide.

2. RENT

Rent via app or hotline. 

 

Scan the QR code on the nextbike or enter the nextbike number. 

 

The framelock will release and your rental will begin.

 

Framelock stuck? Select ‘Lock not Open?’ within the nextbike app and select ‘OPEN’.

3. PARK

Open the nextbike app and press 'Park'. 

 

Then press down the framelock lever.

 

A beep will confirm that the E-Bike/Standard Bike is locked.

 

To continue the ride, press ‘Open Lock‘ on the app to reopen the frame lock.

4. RETURN

Return the E-Bike/Standard Bike to an official station.

 

Lock it by pressing down the lever on the framelock at the rear of the E-Bike/Standard Bike.

 

A beep will confirm the successful return and end of your rental. 

 

If a station is full, place the E-Bike/Standard Bike directly next to the station and follow the return process.

 

If there are no charging docks available when arriving to an Electric Station, place the E-Bike directly next to the station and then press down the frame lock lever. A beep will confirm the successful return and end of your rental.

Note: If the charge on the E-Bike is too low, you will not be able to use the electric assist.

1. Register

Register via app, website or hotline or simply click here. 

 

By joining, you will also be able to rent nextbikes in every nextbike city worldwide

2. Rent

Rent via app or hotline. 

 

Scan the QR code on the bike or enter the nextbike number. 

 

You will receive a code to unlock the nextbike. 

 

Press any button on the bike computer, enter the code and press "OK".

 

Unlock the nextbike by removing the front lock from the wheel, securing it in the holster behind the basket.

3. Park

Slide the lock through the front fork until it clicks and locks. 

 

Then, press any button on the bike computer and press "P" to park the nextbike. 

 

To continue the ride, open the nextbike app and check the unlock code.

 

Press any button on the bike computer and enter the unlock code, then press “OK”.

 

Unlock the nextbike by removing the front lock from the wheel, securing it in the holster behind the basket.

4. Return

Return the nextbike to an official station.

 

Lock it by sliding the lock through the front fork and the bike stand until it clicks and locks.

 

Then, press any button on the bike computer and press "OK"

 

The bike computer will say 'RETURNED' and your app will update once the nextbike has been successfully returned.

 

If a station is full, place the nextbike directly next to the station and follow the return process.

Note: All nextbikes MUST be returned to an official station. Any attempt to return a nextbike outside of an official location will result in an additional fee.
