You can hop on and off different bikes all day – just return your bike to an official station before half an hour is up to ride again for free. Want to keep riding without stopping? It’s only £1 for every additional 30 minutes.
OVO Bikes are powered by nextbike – so you’ll need an active nextbike account to claim your rides. Register in seconds at ovobikes.co.uk or on the nextbike app. For all the details, check our terms and conditions below2.
That means on Fridays, we’re giving you unlimited 60-minute rides on standard bikes. Nice one!

OVO Bikes are a great way to commute or to explore the city. We’ve curated the OVO Bikes Green Route, to help you discover some local sustainable businesses – from zero waste stores, to delightful vintage shops. The shops will be an easy spot, as each one will be awarded with an OVO green plaque displaying their prestigious status.

We launched over a decade ago with one clear mission – to make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Since then we’ve taken on over 1 million members, planted nearly 2 million trees, and put cutting carbon at the top of our to-do lists.
That’s why we offer 100% renewable electricity as standard3. And we plant one carbon-busting tree for every member, every year you’re with us4.
But we know the journey to net zero carbon doesn’t stop there. There’s loads we can do to cut our carbon footprints, like rethinking the way we travel. So we’ve brought OVO Bikes to Glasgow.
3 The renewable electricity we sell is backed by renewable certificates (Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificates (REGOs)). See here for details on Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin certificates and how these work. A proportion of the electricity we sell is also purchased directly from renewable generators in the UK.
4 Each year, OVO plants 1 tree for every member in partnership with the Woodland Trust. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, so tree-planting helps to slow down climate change.
